Broke my wallet the last run up to the land with the F150. $70 gas fills are killing me.

I have a old 1986 Isusu pup thats been parked for 10 years in the shed or in the weeds.
I had drained the gas and run her dry. Also drained the coolant before I parked it.

I changed the oil, Replaced the coolant, Put gas in it and a battery.
She started right up. hmmm Just need some duct tape to cover a few of these rust holes :-)
You know. In the 200,000 miles on that truck I dont believe I have ever even gave it a tune up.

Okay, guys, I have to bragg, too. Have a '84 Ford Bronco II, with 307k miles and have had to put a new mainshaft in the trany, an a stablizer bar bracket on it. Other than that, just gas and change the oil regular. Still gets 20-23mpg on the road. All that crap about being an unsafe vehicle, no so for me. The unsafe part comes from the DRIVER NOT BEING SAFE. Wish they still made them, would buy tomorrow...Whats foreign about it, the trany is a Mits...
Good Luck.....

My 84" Dodge D50 4X4 will roll over 250K miles this week. It"s a daily driver and a work horse. Hard to kill those Jap trucks.

Does it have the interference timing belt issue? That thing will snap like an old rubber band and bye-bye engine. Changed one with only about 48k miles.

The 1986 one I have has a timing chain no belt. Pain in the butt to change the head gasket which is bad on this one but other then that and 250,000 not a bad old rust bucket. Maybe I should fix it up like Kelly has but its just not big enough for what I need. Maybe one of these days I will

Looks like I am not the only one who does not want to get rid of some thing that still works.

I gave this one away once to my brother in law. He needed a vehicle to get to his new job. He drove it to Chicago area. Drove it for 3 years. he finnaly bought a new car. He asked if I wanted it back. Yep I said good reason for a visit.
Drove it home and parked it. Been sitting ever since.

The one I have has either a blown head gasket or a cracked head. It was my dads truck till he let it get hot and then he gave it to me. He picked up a Toyota and then wrecked it a month latter and thats when they took his liense from him and I didn't fix the truck because I figure if I had he would try to keep driveing which at 82 he doesn't need to be doing with his bad health
