Hi Gang;
At the recent local agricultural show, saw this little girl showing one of her Father's English Long Horn calves. These are the oldest native cattle in England, and are on the endangered list.
Is'nt it great to see a sight like this!
Cheers David

Shades of James Herriot: Change the Vehicle to a 1938 Rover and this would be a common scene at the "Darrowby Agricultural Exibition of 1938. The only thing missing is Siegfried and Tristan Farnum his Partners in the practice,Oh and a Pint of Guiness or two after. John

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! What are the white "lab coats" for? Are they just part of the show or just this particular person? Kinda neat....

Great photo! Thanks! We had our local County Fair over the weekend. There were 20+ kids showing in 4H for cattle, 8 for goats, 1 for sheep, and 6 for hogs. We need a lot more interest! County fair board, so far, refuses to have an "open class" for those not in 4H. Guess it will just die out.

"English long horn". that a new one on me. Have raised my share of breeds- (charter member of one breed) but don't think I have ever seen a picture of one. Looks kind of "beefey" like the modern cattle. Any chanch of a full grown picture? Kenny in Colorado

If we don't get the kids involved and interested, this will die. Good picture.
