I figure you all are getting tired of hearing about bad stuff and getting prayer requests but I should could use the help of all that will... my wife Michelle is in the Hospital with Guillain-Barre Syndrome it's pretty serious I won't bore you with the details but I sure would appreciate any kind thoughts or prayers you could send her way tonight before bedtime...

Thank you... Dave

Dave, about two years ago, I was hospitalized with GBS. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and spent 4 more in therapy 6 times a day. I was paralized from the neck down and on the verge of being put on a resperator. I have almost fully recovered today with just a little tingling in my toes today. As someone who has been there you all have my prayers. If you have any questions please e-mail me. All the best, Brett

Prayers from our house to yours Dave.

I googled up what it is as I thought it might be of interest:

"Guillain-Barré (ghee-yan bah-ray) syndrome is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system."

"Is there any treatment?
There is no known cure for Guillain-Barre syndrome, but therapies can lessen the severity of the illness and accelerate the recovery in most patients. There are also a number of ways to treat the complications of the disease."

Dave --- we all go through testing times, and what ever the out-come -- it's for a reason, so keep praying and pray that you become strong in the Lord's Faith, and HE will get you through it all... His Servant > Joe

Thank you for your support. Fortunately this was diagnosed before the illness affected her ability to breathe on her own. She was started on Intra-venous immuno globulin therapy about 2 hours ago. They are not going to do the plasma exchange therapy, at least not yet.

Right now I am stuck at home with the kids and can't be by her side again until tomorrow, your kind responses are appreciated and help me feel not so alone without her here...

Thank you.
Dave

You have our prayers Dave. Some of those autoimmune diseases seem to come out of no where and attack a healthy person. Have the doctors started the plasma exchange therapy yet?

Dave,
Prayers for your wife, you and your family.

My sister was afflicted with the same nasty, debilitating disease. Her brain was never affected all through the ordeal, and she knew what was going on all around her at all times. Talk to her she can hear and understand.

Harry

Dave
Definently talk to her and keep her up on everything, especially the kids, Animals and yourself. She needs to know she has a cheering aection and a reason to fight. Dad was in a coma when he was close to the end. I sat there for several hours rambling on about everything from greasing the backhoe to the cost of my 800 number. He came out of it about lunch time the next day while Mom was with him. First thing he asked about? Did I replace the grease fitting on the dipper stick cylinder? And was I able to get a better rate with MCI?
Our prayers are definently with your wife, kids and yourself.
Crum

Dave, You have prayers from Louisiana also. We never understand all the workings of the Lord, but He is still God and in control of every facet of our lives. Look to Him for strength and comfort in these trying times. He will provide. God Bless. Bob Da. (La)
