How many out there use your old tractor's in a business? I do a lot of mowing, and discing for other people. I try to talk people into mowing because it is easier for me, and I can use my MF diesel which uses less fuel. If they insist on discing, or there are too many rocks to mow I get out my AC model M which goes back to late 30's. I have several, and they are like the rabbit that keeps going, and going. The disc is 8 ft, and is around a 50's model it's also a AC. Stan

I was cutting 50 to 100 cords of firewood each year with belt driven buzzsaws. I lost my source of affordable wood, so not much any more.

I guess the family farm is a business...

I usually put about 50 to 75 hours a year on my 42 Farmall H during the haying operation. Also, what would we consider old? Our newest tractor is an 84 model, the rest are late 60's and 70's models...

I use our '49 WD Allis for all sorts of chores although it burns more fuel than my 68HP diesel tractor. I put a heavy duty 3 point hitch on it about 10 years ago. With live pto and hydraulics it does everything I ask it to do. There is no reason to replace it with anything.

I put up hay every year with 55 and 57 model 860 fords and have an 850 ford as well. I also haul wood in the winter using them to pull a trailer. They come in handy to give the grandkids a hay ride as well.

My WD Allis feeds cattle every day all winter long. And my backup loader tractor is a 47 Farmall M.

Howard: Your up and about early this morning for a guy just out of surgery. I suspect discomfort could be the driving force. Probably the urge to do something more productive. All the best on a speedy recovery.
