The problem I have encountered with my 1210 Ford 4X drive tractor is that after about 20 minutes of operation (with a 4 foot shredder)the Temp warning light goes on. I drained the system and when I opened the block drain valve no water came out. I went ahead and flushed the cooling system with a regular commercial system flush, but this didn't help the problem. Question, could the block be so full of crap that that sufficiant coolant isn't getting to the engine, and if so is there a method to clean the block with out having to tear the engine down. any suggestions or fixes would be happily received.

It's not unusual to have junk accumulate around the inside of a block drain, since they're placed at the lowest part of the system. If thats the two-eared type drain that you turn (like a faucet) to open up, you should be able to open it and run a small, stiff wire in; jiggling the wire back and forth should start it running. (That should work with most any straight-thru drain). Or you might consider removing the drain; but they have a tendency to simply break off, which is aggravating, to say the least. My own opinion is that without the block drain running clear your flush was probably half wasted. Accumulated scale, etc, seems thin but is a good insulator, keeping engine heat from transferring to the water, even when the water's circulating well. Good luck.
