So,

My friend John stops by (think he feels sorry fer me).

Anyway, it is 102 degress and ya can cut the humidity with a chainsaw.

John absolutely insists that I use his air conditioned tractor to rod my ground. He even roads the thing some 25 miles out to me.

I'm tellin' ya guys, it was just some pretty tough duty to pull out there.

Darn him, anyway. :>)

Allan

Sure is easy to get spoiled. I've always run little ole junky stuff on my part-time operation, but went to see a friend in eastern Washington with mega-acre wheat farm, and did some chisel plowing with a Steiger. Sittin' in an easy chair, controls all within easy reach, steers like a car, nice and cool, the Cummins just purring. Felt like I should be watching TV and sipping a cool one, too- the field work just wasn't keeping me very busy.

Allen,

You need to find your self a Case Ih 2096 mfwd with cab. You cant beat the cummins 5.9 in a farm tractor. Talk about a fluel sipping motor. your fuel savings will pay for the price of the tractor.

And it's the right color for you.

Yes Sir,

I'm finding that out. This darned John Deere is half again bigger than my 966 and uses 1/4 the fuel.

I even called John last spring and told him he should get his fuel gauge fixed. He just laughed at me. :>)

What ever happened to the oats, I just can't understand how that can make money just working the soil all year long. Sure looks like spray roundup and been done with it. Different things for different folks thats for sure. Cutting fourth cutting this weekend

Darned tractor kept making a noise that I'd never heard before.

Turned the fan down on "2" (cause I was gettin' cold) and it went away. LOL!

Oh boy....you're gettin' the fever again...I can tell. You could...always part with a couple pieces and buy a condo on wheels. Only problem I see is we would all like to see you put in GPS so we can keep track of you. Cause we know you'd be in there most of the time!

Geez, Allen --

I'm surprised that you'd be seen driving that rig!

No, not because of its color, but because it's a four-wheel-drive tractor. I guess the heat does funny things to a man.

Meanwhile, not to boast, but here in the northeast corner of our great land the weather has been absolutely perfect the past two days. Not a cloud in the sky, 76 degrees, low humidity. The kind of day we'll remember in January.

Went out to the vegetable garden this evening to see if there was a cucumber big enough to bring in for supper, and came back with a dozen!

The Old Fellow Upstairs is good to us.
