In a thread below re' reclaimed, re-refined and reprocessed oil, I forgot to mention: NEVER throw away an old oil can or bottle, or anything to do with Oil co's and gas stations, especially defunct Co's or chains, without checking the Petroliana (Oil co, gas station collectors) sites like oldgas.com or EBay. While a lot is just junk, some rare stuff brings very sweet prices.

Helped a friend cleaning out the garage of his parents home, mother recently died and he was telling me that there is some stuff I could use. The father died in 1973. Anyhow, I acquired a case of tubes of grease that was made by the Wynns Friction Proofing Co.....and it is so old that there isn"t any zip code on the company address. Also a case of carburator cleaner that you put in the fuel tank...same way...and a 12" ruler with the 1957 Cincinnati Reds schedule on it. Fred OH

I have some Studebaker-Packard "Miracle Power" additive in 16 oz cans. Wonder what they might bring? I found one place that wanted $45 per can, ouch!

It doesn't take much of a can to bring big bucks sometimes. Here's a quart can off eBay last week that sold for $157!!!

Do you have a website for them? I got some old Shell, Quackermaid, and Speedway cans.

The only website I"m familiar with that has free ad listings is oldgas.com, but I assume if you Google headings like petroliana, gas stations, etc more will come up. Hope you"ve got another $157 one!

Last summer I helped put in a residential irrigation system. Owner had a colledtion of probably every quart oil can (cardboard and metal) there ever was. Literally hundreds in his garage and basement.

Your not kidding,a freind gave me a five gallon Oilzum can and I picked up a few quart oils years back at a car swap meet.Recently went to an antique bike show in Oley Pa. picked up an Oilzum grease thinking I dont have one of them, well it was marked 150 bucks.Even the cardboard oils are worth bucks. The old oil bottles with the metal spouts are good too.
