Had a late night, anyone heard from Allan? Chadron NE made the Bemidji MN news with 3 homes lost. No mention of the farms surronding the area. Sure hope he got out with all safe. Prayers from here for all the folks in those fire storm areas. Bob

..doesn"t seem right to be talking about what someone is experiencing, like what Allen and his neighnours are right now, without helping....just doesn"t seem right. Sometimes the "closeness" that the web brings us together, is a negative emotion as well?... To Allen, mind your friends and family, the computers and equipment are all replacable. Hound

Allen subdivision, WHISPERING PINES. was evacuated yesterday. The local web site with the best information is chadrad.com I have water trucks and was on the fire line in chadron when it moved to the chadron city limits. We have since moved our trucks to the fires burning in Sioux county. My son has been out for 48 hours without a break. I came in last night for a few hours, and will be heading out again in a few minutes. These fires are burning in lightly populated areas. but the lose of grass and timber to the local ranchers will be devastating

Collectively we are mighty glad you and yours are safe. The readers of this forum (even those who do not post) were thinking of you. It is a positive note in a bleak situation. I hope the giving spirit holds, and those who lost the most can be assisted in recovery. JimN

Hi Bob,

We're fine and thanks for thinking of us. Bless all those 600 firefighters.

All our holdings are luckily located on the upwind edge of the blaze so we were spared. Many were not so foutunate. The last I heard the 5 different fires took a total of around 50,000 acres. Those 40 mph winds sure didn't help either.

The authorities gave the evacuation order for us at 1 pm and we spent all afternoon moving livestock and equipment out to the farm. Guess that we will work all day today moving everything back and getting it set up again.

So far, I've got one computer up and running on satellite. Many more to go 'fore I can sleep.

Allan
