The front of the radiator on my tractor is pretty packed up with dust and chaff...what's the best way to clean it off...water or air or brush. Just trying not to damage it.

Use a very good degreaser and a garden hose for the do it yourselfer. You may find the degreaser at your local hardware store.

I just cleaned up a really nasty, dirty radiator a few days ago. It got plugged with oily mist from a hydraulic leak, combined with field dirt.

I removed the radiator, and cleaned it with my gas-powered pressure washer and warm water and soap.

The advantage of the gas-powered pressure washer over an electric one is that you can throttle down the gas engine to the point where the pressure is low enough not to damage the radiator fins, yet there is enough pressure for good cleaning action.

If you have the patience, long toothpicks work well.

Blow out what you can from the engine side then use water hose. I never use any tools since one slip and you can have a hole in the rad.

I bought a gallon of the acid that you mix with water and spray on the A/C condensor. This stuff turns into a foam after a couple of minutes. Take a water hose and wash it out.
