OK you cellphone guys I got a question.

Bought a new cellphone because the old one wore out.

Didn't know it till I got it home that I can take pictures on that little thing.

Is there a way to download the pictures onto a computer from those things?

Read the manuel and it tells how to take the pics but not what you can do with them other than review them on the phone.

What do you do when this one gets full put it in the photo album and go buy a new one?

Its a Kyocera KX16 phone.

Might save me taking the wifes camera to the field if you can download the pics.

Gary

I have a Sony Ericson Z520 with photo and video capabilities and it does pretty good. I can down load them to my laptop though the infared port and then e-mail them to my friends and family or post them on the forums that I frequent. Just wish that it had a flash.

I can put in an address and give it the type of "email". Then I just send the pick to my email box, or anyone else's.

On my phone from Alltel there is a monthy charge to email photos unless you have one of the deluxe plans.

The quality of camera phones are pretty bad in general.

I also have a Kyocera KX 16 phone with service from US Cellular. You can buy a cord and software but the mfg said that US Cellular may have that feature disabled. If they do the only way to get pics off of camera is to send them to your email address. On my plan this costs extra.

Mark I think you could be right.

Found a screen on there that says something about sending to a site which sends back to me.

That sounds like a lot of fun.

Oh and there is a charge for this service.

Mine can do it a couple of ways.Hook up a cord from the phone and download them, or like I do, take the card out of it and put it in my card reader.

John as best I can tell there is no memory card.

And there are no ports to plug in a cable.

Only ports are for charge and headset.

Do you have a text/pix messaging plan? if so, you can send them to your email account. My camera phone is so-so quality, but it's better than nothing when I need to take a picture and i don't have my digital. I looked at buying the software to connect directly to the computer, but I don't have much money right now...

Sometimes those little cameras don't take very high quality pictures, but yours might. They barely get 1 megapixel, and most digital cameras are atleast 3. I think you have to buy the software for the computer and a cord to go from the camera to the computer. You might talk to the dealer where you got your phone, they should be able to get you set up. Good luck.

Gary, I remember someone on here last fall posting pictures from his cell phone. But for the life of me, I can't remember who it was.
