My wife and I are having a party for our 25th anniversry next week. Along with the pig, tator salad, beans and whatever eles I thought about boiling up sweetcorn in our turkey fryer, then putting it in roasters with alittle water in the bottom to keep it steaming. Any suggestions? We are excpecting 100 to 250 friends. I know I should make them shuck their own corn but, heck, it's aparty . Right?

My brother did a big corn roast for his anniv. He bought two 30 gallon galvanized garbage cans and boiled them out. Party day he filled them 2/3 with unshucked (cut each end for more room and less mess) corn and topped off with water over an open bonfire. He set up a gas grill nearby with a few coffee cans on it. Each has one pound of butter in it then fill with water. Boil to melt butter, dunk cobs and salt to taste. You'll want a new pair of leather lined gloves or a few cheap hot mits or someone will burn themselves and drop corn.

Enjoy your party!

Years ago on the farm we had a giant pot sitting on blocks over a wood fire filled with water/corn at the end of every saturday nite we would all eat fresh corn. A few large pots set up with burners like 3 or 4 would do the trick just run one pot till its empty then refill it as they empty the second pot and so on. Thats how i would do it.

Get a a big pot and gas burner and steam the corn, will be easeir to remove, feed em in groups if possible. Other wise fill as many roasters as ya can.
