Well, I have had a nice Allis Chalmers C, with a Woods 59 Belly Mower in the photo ads for about 10 days or so, and have not even had a scammer try to buy it, no phone calls neither,so I do not know if the email setup is working at all. And I know of other people who are having the same problem with not getting emails thru ytmag`s photo ads.

I have found that if you use a free email service like Hotmail the YT spam filters block it 90% of the time. When I list somthing to sell I put my email address right in the add so people can contact me directaly. If you respond to someones add and after you click send, a message that says somthing like spam blocker program pops up your message did not get forwarded. If it has been forwarded a message will pop up telling you it was forwarded to the seller. I think YT should do some work on the system as I think many requests are not being forwarded. I know I have responded to some of my own adds with a differant Hotmail address and none ever get through.

When I start up in the AM, my email sometimes sez (in addition to "checking for email") "filtering 01, 02," etc. but I never get anything in the junk mail file..Tech spt sez that means it was filtered by MSN before it gets to me and that there"s no way to tell who or where it was from. Sellers are sometimes inconsiderate; if it"s sold they just delete later inquiries. Why not try a forum posting to the seller, to see if email getting thru??

Some might have a spam filter that they never check and don't know how to live with.

I also tried to contact someone in the same town as I live in with no response. I wondered the same thing as you. Does it work?

Mike----- -I would call, but they give no phone number. I really wonder why they wouldn't list a phone number if they really wanted to sell. They have to have a phone to have a computer.

Actually not true. If you have cable service with cable modem supporting your computer, you don't need dial tone for that reason. Some people get rid of it and live with cell phone.

I think many people are a bit nervous when it comes to giving out their phone number. I know I am since it is a cell phone and it can be expensive to get too many calls.

As for needing a phone to use the computer on the internet? Why do you need to have a phone for internet connections?

It"s known as a dialup connection, and that requires a phone line. Not everone has DSL, wireless or cable available. Or maybe it"s too expensive.
