Hi Guys;
We are moving to southwest Wales in a couple of weeks time. This view is looking down from the Sugar Loaf Mountain west towards the town of Aberystwyth (abba-wrist-with is how it sounds)
it translated from Welsh to English as the mouth of the Ystwyth river.
If you look hard where the land ends you can just see the sea.
Its small grass fields for hay, one small oat field - trianular just right of centre - is just starting to turn yellow. The steep sides of the valley are for sheep grazing. Poor land and very poor returns from cattle & sheep farming.
Cheers David

What a beautiful country. Our son-in-law is from Bassaleg Newport, S. Wales. He is quite reserved and doesn't offer much about his homeland. We think a lot of him as he is very good to our daughter and to us. They recently moved to Tucson, Arizona and have been having 100 plus degree days. quite different from the U.K. Thank you for putting the pictures on, we enjoyed them. We live 35 miles from Boise Idaho been hot here too.

The poor land quality is probaby why you have the bracken (we call them bracken ferns). If you fertilize and farm intensively, it will soon disappear- it outcompetes everything on infertile soil, but can't compete with other plants if they're fertilized. At the present price of fertilizer, it would be an expensive cure, to say the least.
