Well i can remember filling the old B61 Mack lowboy at the truck stop and fuel for it with the road tax was 14.9 a gal. and they pumped the fuel cleaned the windsheilds and all the winders and mirrors lites checked the tires and chains and would park it for ya while you were eating . When i bought my owen large car fuel was 32.9 a gallon and ya got the same treatment at the truck stop . Now today ya pump your owen fuel clean the winder mirrors and lites yourself and when ya go refinance the farm to pay the fuel bill they don't even thank ya it is more like go take a flyen F .

Yeh, when I fill up my old binder the fuel in the tank is worth more than the truck!

heck, i can remember when i could buy kerosine at the local gas station. it was in a seperate tank with a hand crank and cost a whopping 15 cents/gallon. of course gasoline was 25-29 cents/gallon and the attendents actually filled my car for me. even wiped (or rather smeared) my windshield and checked my tire pressure. ahhh.... the good ol" days.

And if you were lucky, you could stop at the ice cream parlor and get a cone for a nickle.

The sad part about it...Allan is right, we've been living in the "good ol' days"! Nothing to do now but heist up your pants, pull your cap down, and get ready to complain.

Kinda hard to swallow when it costs me more to fill my pickup with fuel than my dad used to pay the hired man in wages fer a month.

Don't think today's money is worth much anymore. :>(

Yup, takes a 100 dollar bill to fill my truck, $100.oo used to be a thing I dreamed of having, thought I was rich as I could be. Now, that is like having a dollar in your pocket when I was younger, can get about the same thing.
