An old farmer told me to get a milk crate and an old radio, and a old 2 gallon gas can(metal) with the botton cut out. Put the crate down, put the radio on and the metal can over it. The racoons will think someone is there and be scared of the noise. Try that and maybee you will have some corn left next time.

Same thing happened here last year..twice! Once with a coon (.300 Savage settled that one) and once with a skunk (the h**l with that! she can fight her own battles!)
Dad often said "takes a pretty tough dog to whoop a coon".

The only way to protect sweet corn from coons is to put an electric wire about four inches off the ground around the patch. Electrify it with an electric fencer. I"ve been using this method for years and it has never failed.

looks like the coon would have done less damage then the dog! use a live trap.. works good..
