David: being a lifelong fan of oddities, curiousities and anything that just doesn't fit right, I've followed crop circle reports for years, including the seemingly dervish-like Doug and Dave. My question is: off the top of your head, to the best of your recollection, has anyone in England been charged for trespassing or crop damage in connection with making crop circles?? I've read reports that many farmers are livid when they find one, mowing immediately to avoid having the underentertained thoughtlessly trample the rest of the crop...would appreciate comments from anyone in England, on the board or direct. Many thxx!!

One have just appeared near Norwich in Norfolk beside the A47.

Farmer is going wild because it is a long arrangement of joined cicles that took in a fair part of the field. (smaller fields here in England).

The public have trampled down the rest going to look at it. As it was a crop of unripe wheat he has lost it. Should have erected a pay station and charged to see it. Would probably have made more money than he would from the wheat.

Majorman: Greatly appreciate your comments; sorry to hear that many there seem to be as thoughtless as many here. Would further appreciate your advising of any recollection of anyone charged for creating circles (not sure of the terminology; I mean reports of anyone suspected, stopped, advised to desist, strongly warned, ticketed, apprehended, arrested etc)for trespassing , crop damage, or whatever euphemism used there, if any). Again, many thxx!!

Matt in CT: Neat question; as official view is that crop circles are all artificial (Doug and Dave, etc) I would guess would probably be considered willful trespass and/or vandalism, but would also appreciate comments from anyone so affected here (US). Many thxx

Would that be covered by crop insurance? in reply to Majorman, 07-12-2006 12:17:04
Don't even know if you have such a thing.

I don't even know if it would be covered in the U.S. programs!
