Is it better to let the grass completely dry before I spray it with herbicide or is it Okay to spray it with dew on the grass.

I live in Eastern North Carolina, it gets very hot and humid here. So I try to do my outside work in the early mornings when it is cooler. This includes spraying coastal Bermuda grass with MSMA and 2-4-D.

My question: Is it better to allow the dew to dry off the grass before I spray it or does it matter if the dew is still on the grass when I spray it.

If you want the spray to stick to the grass,
wait for the dew to dry if you want it on the ground
its ok to spray with the dew on it.

I agree with Dave.

If you want the leaf to absorb the spray it will suck it up better when it is dry.

I spray msma with the dew on and have had no problems. A rain in 24 hrs or less will affect the control however.
