I bought a air intake I guess thats what it is called. It is the pipe that comes from the carbarator and goes to the coffee can looking item under the hood. We the problem is the lower half of the can comes off and their is a level marker to be filled with some kind of oil or I guess. I don't know what kind of oil or if it is really oil that goes their. Can someone please help me....
Thanks,
Stilltoe

Jeff, what you have is a Oil Bath air cleaner. Owners manual says use engine oil, but 30weight is best. As the air is pulled into the oil cup it takes the oil up into the body of the air cleaner and the oil mixed with the wire traps the dirt. When the engine is shut down, the oil drains back down into the cup along with the dirt.
