Dragging a dead deer off the highway again! Dad stopped over today and said there was a dead deer right smack in the middle of one of our fields down the road a mile on the side of the highway.I didn't believe him because I had just been through there the night before and there weren't any. Although it is a really common occurance here in Michigan. I saw 8 in the field across from the house and 4 more down the road a little way on my trip to get rid of it. They are kind of hard to get rid of. I dragged it to a more remote location about 1/4 mile down the road so it could decompose without all the neighbors having to smell it. I couldn't believe how bad it smelled in less than 24 hours. There would be no way you could touch it tomorrow. I just wrapped a chain around its legs and off we went. Seems like a weekly event around here lately. It was actually a nice drive, after dark, windy and stormy but not raining yet. The 9n has a 12 volt alternator and bright lights for great nightime visibility and a sherman trans so it goes about 17 mph. Never thought I would turn into a deer removal specialist around here. Oh well, sure looks a lot better on the highway when they are taken away, and smells better too! Later people.

County road crew will come and pick them up around here, if you call with the location. Our tax dollars at work.

Yeah they pick up in our area too, if they can see them....

We just had some new neighbors move in at the end of our feild, and a trukey got nailed on the shoulder.

I was at that end of the feild fixing the manure spreader when the neighbor went down the road some to where the dead turkey was. He got out of his car, looked it over, looked around, kicked it some, looked around some more, kicked it into the ditch, looked at it some more, then got in his car and drove away.

The next week the bird was still there, and the county ditch cutters went through with the big flail mowers..... I never wanted to examine the scene, but I'm sure it wasn't pretty....

Best part is, that moron had to live with the stink!!!
