Any help on this would be appreciated. 2003 Ford Expedition with a diesel. Truck ran fine when parked, went to start it up next day and the engine runs but seems lazy and won't rev up when put in gear.Check engine light is on.I have a scanner, but don't have the cartridge for Ford diesels.Any ideas, crank sensor maybe? Thanks!

Could be a stuck open egr valve, dead pedal,or may have a computer glitch.Lots of lttle sensors on that engine needed to be bugged out.Follow that link to the dieselstop, youll get fixed up but your prolly looking at a trip to dealer. As for the 6.0,my truck(04)is completely debugged now and is one of the best engines I've had.

I work for an ambulance service and we have had trouble with the 6.0. They do that when they are cold for some reason. Anyway we took them to Ford I belive it was the injectors. So good luck with it

Luke, does that comment really help. The man comes here for help and you tell him it's a POS. Msm you might start with the easiest first. Try changing the fuel filter, check the air cleaner, is the oil at normal level and been changed lately. I assume the wait to start light is operating normally. Does the exhaust sound normal when running ? Try to give us a little more imput. The boys at diesel.com are good

I didn't say they were a p.o.s, I said they were a nightmare which is a correct statement. I also said I'd get it in to Ford. These things are not old mechanicalliy injected and controlled engine's that someone with a little diesel knowledge can work on. Better save youself some headaches and let teh experts work on it.

I think you mean it is an excursion, right? I dont think it is the CPS. The CPS's I've seen that go out do not start at all. The engine would turn over and the tach will not register any rpms if I remember right.

If it is a 6.0 litre good luck. Better get it in to Ford. The first year 6.0's were a nightmare.
