Well, as I am intrigued by all-things mechanical, heading over to the Cape this morning to (hopefully) watch the shuttle go up. T-6hrs and counting.....

Weather has improved; they say she has a 60% chance of getting up.

Enjoy the launch. Saw one a few years ago while working. Flying at 35,000 feet a few miles west of the cape going south when they lifted off; by the time it got to our altitude, it was well past supersonic. Impressive acceleration to say the least.

60% is better than my chance of getting up.

Brave people, them astronauts.
Crawling into the nose cone and being blasted into space like a roman candle.
And to think, it was all built by the lowest bidder.
Not me. No way, no how.
They is braver than I am.

Worked down there for a while, got to watch one launch. Its quite a site. Have a good time and say a prayer for the crew, I find it hard to believe they are sending it up with the statement that the panels are likely to come off during take-off. Bob

That would be a sight to see. Amazing how something that huge can leave the ground.
