Allen I am about to go to the dark side.I have spotted two 1086's with cabs and a/c.One has duals and the other one doesnot. The doors on both tractors the bottom of doors on both has rusted thru.Duals has 6201 hrs and the other one has4251 hrs but has a pyrometer on it.That makes me a little leary. These will be bushhog tractor only. They both have 1000 and 540 and 3 pt.What kind of hp and fuel usage can I expect out of these tractors. Thanks Steve

I hear you Allen, I too am thinking exactly your thoughts. I would like either a 1466 or a 1086 in my collection. I still would keep my 966 for the "little" tractor.

Our 1086 has always dyno'ed at around 140 horsepower on the PTO. Heck of a good tractor, it needs a paint job, but we use it so much there is not time to take it out of service to paint it.

Fuel usage is darn good. I ran a 966 for a guy that used way more fuel than our 1086.

Ours has the digital info center in the dash that has a pyro from the factory. Pyro is a very useful tool for taking care of your tractor - keeps you from over working the tractor and makes sure that you have something to guide you for cooling down the engine prior to shut down.

Pyro in ours usually runs about 750 degrees under medium load, fully loaded I have had it go up to 1100 and then I backed off. I always let it cool down to 350 degrees before shutting the engine off.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me!

Hi Steve,

Can't really tell ya 'cause I've never owned either.

That's one heck of a lot of tractor for a bushhog, don't ya think? :>)

I'd sure like to find a big one too. Compared to today's new tractor prices, they really are a steal so your dealer isn't lyin' to ya.

I'd even be happy if I could find an old 1466 settin' around the corner. Really need something a little bigger than the 966.
