Hello again. I was wanting everybodys personal opinion on where to get and what brand of engine kits you all recommend. I will be overhauling an international gas motor 4 cy. out of my tractor. I will be replacing all bearings, gaskets, sleeves, rings, everything. Would you buy one from the IH dealer or by one from a web site like this one or others? Thanks for your time and opinions. Darin

Have you torn the engine apart yet and seen if the sleeves and bearings are worn out of specs? The two engines I have/am rebuilding i am just got a ring set and gasket set. One was a sleeved Allis WC engine that was fairly well worn all i had to do was remove some of the shims to bring the bearings back into specs. The continental engine i am currently working doesnt have shims on the main bearings but were still in specs, havent got to the contnecting on yet. You also would need to tear apart the engine before you can order bearings because you need to know how bad the crank is worn to know what size to order. As far as where to order, the WC gasket and rings I got from this website if I remeber right. The continetal rings and gaskests came from the massey dealer. I have gotten gaskets for a B Allis engine from the dealer. I was just looking for the most cost effective source.

Last one I used was a Clevite kit I bought from the local NAPA. It was cheaper than the kit from the Case/IH dealer and a little more expensive than the kit offered on this site.

No complaints so far.
