1941 Oliver RC (narrow front) with worn out steering shaft universal joints. The universal joints are welded onto the steering shafts (apparently from the factory). Does anyone know how to go about replacing these universals?
Thanks for your help.

If your saying what I think you are saying the yokes are welded to the shaft and they are. All except one for sure. If I remember correctly and the later series are that way, there are three U-joints. The one by the front end and the one under the gas tank I think are hled on with a bolt. Never did too many model 60 steering shafts. No doubt you were going to change the u-joint kits? If I need to look my neighbor about 5 miles away has a nice restored 60 I can go look. More questions? J/

R. Schwiebert-thanks for your reply--the universal joints don't seem to come apart like typical ones I've worked with. Also am looking for replacment joints.

I don't know if the shafts are the same size or not, but the Farmall H originally used a U-joint that was welded to the shaft. There is a replacement joint that allows you to cut the original joint off of the shaft, and then the new one slips over the shaft. You need to drill a hole for a roll pin, and you are good to go. You might check with some farm machinery dealers in your area, I believe these replacement joints are available in different sizes.
