Hi Guys;
Photo of my May 1973 John Deere 920 diesel tractor. Built in Manhiem Germany, and sold to Holland. Imported in to England in 2005 and restored. 40HP 3 cylinder diesel, 8F & 2 R gears.

Some 1020 & 1120 models built originally in USA, but later they were imported fom Germany.

JD built a range of these 3 cylinder tractors with same engine & gearbox, 820,920,1020 & 1120; then some 4 cylinder versions with larger HP engines.

Hope its of interest to you all.
Cheers David in England

Very nice looking Deere! Nice paint job! That's quite an angle on the front wheels, I didn't know they could turn at such a sharp angle.

Hi JDknut; thank you for your kind comments, I cant take credit for the restoration, done by Nick Young in England who specialises in these little JD's he imports from Holland & Germany.

Mine seems to be a "special utility" version with swept back front axle which gives a real tight turning circle. JD in England only imported 1020, 1120, 2020 & 2120 models into England, all of which had straight front axles.

I was offered this 920 and a straight axle 1020 and just liked the look of this tractor with the unusual front axle.

Don Macmillan who writes the JD books, was 1st English JD dealer appointed. He brought a handful of 920's into the southeast County (Kent) for use in orchards.

If you want more photos of this tractor I can email you some.
Have a good day. David

Thanks for the pictures David. Always nice to see how things are done "across the pond".
