I know lots of you use Dodge's with the Cummins engine. I have a 2001, 3500 that needs a power boost. I pull a 30 foot gooseneck and put 2 or 3 tractors on it. 15,000# behind the Ram. When I hit a slight incline, just an overpass I bog down. All I have done is add 4 inch exhaust and K&N filter. What's next ?? Any Cummins sites that answer these type of questions ??

my sisters boyfriend has a 2004 dodge 3500, he has 6 inch bully-dog pipes K&N air filter and a bully-dog power pup down loader.. it can now pull ANYTHING with ease.. has so much torqe that he has broke three U joints.. so if you are looking for more power that is the way I would go.. just make sure you get the right gages so you don't over heat.. it won't be cheap either.. around 2,000 for all of it. just my .02

Well to this question , first off what is your total gross ?? now you say ya got 15000 now that does not include the weight of the truck or the trailer so you are grossen more like 30000 or better . Ya got to keep in mind that hey this is a pick up not a semi and what are the gear ratio 's and just adden a 4 inch exhaust and a K&N filter did noting but cost money . And at stock off the show room floor it may run good and it may not . Have you ever had it to cummins to be PUT INTO SERVICE ??? have ya ever run the overhead had the pump checked . My 95 Dodge was a dog when i got it as the guy before me never did anything to it but run it was never in to cummins or Dodge to have the valves adjusted or the pump checked or set . after i did the overhead and set the pump day and night differance. These are a true DIESEL and they require reg. maintance .

I replied to your question above so I would say you are low on power due to dirty injectors. I would also suggets boost and pyro gauges to keep tabs on the engine.
