Had to laugh when I read this add in the photo section. Given the problems he asking about what its worth but doesn't want anyone bothering him with stupid questions. But he did end it with "thank you", I guess that counts for something.

International 240, runs fantastic, and has pto, but fast hitch was taken off. Burns oil and has one gear not working which is road gear, high. Tractor however, is a little dream to drive around and mow with. Sheet metal is nice as well as tires are in nice shape. Please dont waste my time with request for serial numbers, more pics, does it have 3 pt. hitch, no it doesnt, because at this price I am giving you a steal. It should go fast. Thank you.

Personaly, I like this YT site. I have considered farmers a cut above the rest. If you have the make or model that someone wants, you can sell it. 99% of the people I have dealt with are good people. Has anyone noticed that the scammers are few and far between now. Compared to 2 years ago.

There's a lot of idiots trying to sell tractors they know nothing about or asking 3 times what there worth.I've had sellers ask more than the price in the photo add, saying it was a misprint or they did some extra work on it,which was an
obvious lie.He probably knew he couldn't answer
any questions about it honestly so it was easier to get aggressive so you wouldn't ask.

I'm with jrry. The discription is 750 dollars, what else do you need to know? I take the rest as joking "don't call for details". Your either interested or you'r not.

Well, I guess I'd have to disagree with the group on this one. If he's asking a few hundred dollars for the tractor then it's a part tractor and people would be wasting his time for serial number and asking if it has a 3 pt when he stated that in the ad. Now if he's asking 2 grand for it I would agree with the group. How many people ask for the serial number on cars they are looking at? I do agree that's not the best approch on trying to sale the tractor though. Ok, you can blast my opinion now.

I agree with Jrry and ColoKen.. The seller is selling the tractor "As Is" If you are selling something Dirt Cheap, why go through the hassle of answering dozens of questions??? I sell some tools & other items as a hobby/sideline. It seems that the people that try to beat me down to the last cent, are the same ones that want a lifetime guarantee... This is a true story.. I was selling a bunch of machine-shop stuff at a flea market. I had a bucket of new 1/4 inch lathe tool bits. My price was less than 1/4th of retail.. This guy kept haggling... I finally gave him a handful, just to get rid of him... He had the nerve to ask for my name & address, so I could send him a "Refund", if he was not happy with them...

That sounds like the clown near me that had an offer at the road that said, "firewood, $20/load, you split it". It was all logs.

Think I'd have been tempted to hire a guy with a self-loader log truck to go pick up the whole pile, and leave a $20 bill for the "load".

Maybe this is the same guy that has the dog that runs behind the tractor with 3 legs, 1 eye, and ear cut off, and answers to the name of "Lucky".

Hhmn, at any price your getting a headache. Needs transmission repairs and motor job, yep what a dream. Somehow, I really doubt it's going to go very fast since first of all, thats alot of work it needs and secondly, it's going to cost something for just the parts to fix it, and I wonder if maybe you can't even buy trans parts for a 240 anymore, after all, they didn't make all that many of them to begin with, and then after all these years, they are most likely been obsoleted by C-IH.

I guess that is what is meant by "Runs out Great!" or "Runs out strong!" in ads. (Actually can/has moved under its own power.)

That phrase "runs out strong" always kills me.Runs "out " where" Does the oil run out or the water. What runs "out" ? Could be it keeps you running "out " for parts? Maybe it runs out of power? lol,bob

I always like the statement "Ran When Parked." it just never made sense to me. It's like say "ran when new!"

Actually, it does make some sense- You need to follow up with a few more questions to the seller, but at least you know it was in running condition, and wasn't parked because of a rod through the block or some other catastrophe. You're gonna see a lot more "ran when parked" deals in the future, I think, now that gas is so bad that you can't just go out and start a rig that hasn't run in a year or so, without considerable work.
