Can I leave my chargers attached to the batteries and just un plug them? That way all I need to do is re-plug them in when needed.....thanks

Depending on +/- Ground, the ground lead could be hooked to the frame in a convient location and just that one disconnected. I know that some battery's are hard to get to. my 2 pennys worth

Don, sure you can leave them attached, but in my opinions its BEST NOT TO. My reasons are:

(1) Theres a possibility for some small trickle discharge to take place with the amount dependant on the type and design of your particular charger.

(2) Although it may be minimal, with leads left attached there could be an occasion for an accidental shorting which could be hazardous under certain circumstances.

I would remove the charger leads just to be safe and theres no possibility of any trickle discharge that way.

Most new chargers using silicon diodes will be fine. You may see some leakage on old selenium rectifier setups.. and if there are any electrolytic filter caps in the charger.. they may also leak a few micro amps of quiescent current.

I never trusted diodes to be 100% leak proof! I try to remember to unplug chargers from batteries as well as wall socket, so there's no chance of leakage discharging the battery.
