I would contact a good reputable auctioneer and find out about having an auction. If you get someone that will advertize well and knows antique equipment you may do better than private sales.
Just a thought on how I would handle the situation. Besides, then it's all over with in a hurry and you don't have it dragging out over a long period. Also, the money is right there immediately to do what needs to be done.
Hope all works out the best they can under the circumstances.

Dan

Unfortunately there are so many scammers on the internet, I'm not sure you are going about this the right way?

Perhaps you will be viewed as a scammer with a made up story....

Or, you do realize you are asking the general public, ie customers, to help you put a value on the stuff they want to buy from you. I'm not sure you will always be getting good advise from all in that situation.....

Can you see where I am coming from? I don't mean to be blunt or unfeeling, just thinking out loud.

You might best be served by having the stuff appraised by a machinery dealer or auctioneer local to you at least for the better (good working or very rare) stuff - many of the items are basically scrap iron. While it costs a bit, it will give you a good solid start & prevent you from getting scammed.

In any event, best of luck to you & yours, hoping for the best outcomes possible,

SOME auctioneers or "machinery dealers" are no more honest than the on-line folks you are warning her about.

If she could post some pictures on here, she would get opinions from folks with nothing to gain financially from the deal!

Yea. I know. Lot of people out there.

She has the stuff mostly pictured on the link she supplied.
