I know I'm way behind you guys on mowing hay.

But had to get the weeds and nitrogen for corn under control first.

I ain't figured out how to drive two tractors at once yet.

But the way technology is going maybe someday I can.

My cows don't seem to mind older hay anyway.

Today I jump out of the air condition cabs and get on the old tractors to do the hay.

Gary

Don't feel bad Gary. Still 3 to 4 weeks before we start haying up here in Manitoba. Listening to everyone here talk about haying is making me anxious to get going

I'd rather be in your shoes, Gary.

At least, you probably have something to mow. :>)

I'm gonna start dropping the grass on Monday. It is looking forelorn and pitiful too. :>(

Sure hope you guys get some rain soon. That's a wide machine, right/ 'Bout 12 feet?. Small windrow for a first cutting. Reminds me of '88 drouth- couldn't fill three 16 foot chopper boxes on a forty acre field. Normal fill was 3-4 quarter-mile windrows behind a 14 foot swather. We raked that 40 - put five rounds on a windrow because beyond that, we lost more behind the rake than what we gained. Neighbor chopping corn silage said he changed boxes for two reasons- got tired of looking at the green one when he could be pulling a red, or the box was starting to heat, he pulled it around for so long.

Neighbor told me that 3 or 4 years ago, it was so dry that he hayed 53 acres and got 3 bales.

That was the year that the guys didn't even bother to plant any wheat that fall.
