Mrs 730 wrote this poem last wed Listen Again!
Listen to the sounds of the veterans, the sacred calls of Liberty herself,
Voices of soldiers and sailors, of foot soldiers and high flying pilots;
Remember the stories of tanks and planes, of ships and hallowed ground.
Hear, again, of their trials and valor, their days of measured endeavors..
While memories of their marches, their courageous campaigns carry on;
And their victories and their sacrifices ring true.
Let their words and valiant endeavors ring out in of songs of unity and freedom
Remember them as silenced voices echo in the halls of Congress And America the Beautiful sings strong because of them.
Let their calls go forth to the ears of justice
To far-reaching sojourners of Democracy everywhere.
Remember their efforts as yesterday moves on towards tomorrow,
And shadows of Saipan and Saigon, of Gettysburg and Berlin blend together
Mixing with the honored calls of simple soldiers everywhere.
May thanks be given for jobs well done and holy help sought for tasks still waiting.
Heroes then, and heroes now and evermore.
Thanks and glory be to valiant veterans today and always!
