finally got a little rain, not enough to hurt anything but maybe .30 or so. Suppose it will sprout the corn?

That's good at least someone is getting some wet stuff. Now if you can just get some more to do some good. Most all the wheat here is done put up for hay too. Very little left for seed and they can probably cut all that in a day or two. All we had over weekend was tiny sprinkles and more lightning and grass fires and wind. All those clouds stayed west in NM yesterday going north.

Yeah, we got maybe 2 or 3 guys that still own combines in about a 15 mile area and they won't have enough wheat to cut and I don't expect to see any custom cutters come through here unless just traveling up the road. Any AGP elevators up there? They came in here a while back and bought some and are probably wondering why they did that? All those cattle here in feedyards and dairies that came in making most wheat go for silage or hay. Only the ones with summer fallowed ground to plant on and didn't graze have dryland wheat to cut and it doesn't look good like 5-10 bu. stuff? The wheat back on wheat stuff got disastered and plowed up. Seen a little irrigated cotton and corn coming up but that's it for planting here so far. Need some good rains so we can get some haygrazer sudan sorghum going.

RAIN! That's what it's called...had that wet stuff fall from the sky last night, been so long since I had seen any I forgot what it was called. We got around .2 inch where we live in Colorado, I think we are getting close to the 2 inch mark for the year!!!

Lots of old timers around who say this is about what the 30's felt like (maybe a little drier). Only difference is we leave more ground cover now, so when the wind blows like it has been, we only have minor dust storms instead of the "bury all the fences" dust storms of the 30's... We still have a couple of those fences with posts that now stick out of the ground 6-12 inches...

When I looked at the radar last night, I thought of you folks down there. Hope there's more on the way.

I forget who wrote this...

I saw God wash the land last night With his sweet showers on high, And then when morning came, I saw Him hang it out to dry....

We got the storm advisory, wind, clouds and lightning.

Not one derned drop of rain tho. If it doesn't come soon, there will be lots of "wheat hay".

I miss the irrigated ground. :>(

Good for you, now when it sprouts you will need a bit more. Fields here have dried out to wear a mask or eat a lot of dirt (dust). All clean and ready to spread the ash (105 ton) when they get it to me. Then plant and set back and worry, oops, I meant go fishing. Bob

Will pray for you guys out there like you did for me last year. We are back to normal here in the Ozarks this year and are going to have a hay crop and plenty of pasture. None of this feeding hay the first of July like last year. Thank the Lord again for watching out for us. Harley
