As I said before mileage is minimal. All those that claim 3,4,5+ increase read what you want into it, they are the same ones claiming 20+ mpg hauling 30,000 down the road @ 75 mph. You have to make up your own mind I"m just trying to tell you the truth. And I have worked on the Diesels for queit a few years.BTW I also borrowed a duramax from a friend ,Very impressive,so you see I can also be objective.95 is still 12 valve where yours is 24 and computer controlled, yes you do have to maintain them BUT if you gain 5 mpg by adjusting valves then the maintenance on that vehicle has been less than desirable anyway and it has alot more problems than valve lash.

Yeah I thought 20 mpg was impossible with a full load too until several people told me that one of our buddies did it with his Chevy. It is an early model Duramax with the Allison and I went with him to a draft horse show once where we grossed out at just under 20K. Fueled up at home and again at the show site. Real world MPG was just over 19. Hit just under 20 MPG on the way home. Hard to beleive but very true.

The first problem you have is that you have a Dodge Cummins, Get a Ford Power-Stroke, and you will find out quick that you would rather be stroked than rammed

Don't know what ALROPEO that your smoken but i was a die in the wool 100% ford man till they came out with the power joke and did away with the 460's and why in the world would ya ever want to feed 8 cylinder that make no power and no toqure . Everybody has had there hand in tryen to make a V8 diesel work and they all scraped the idea and the the ford -I H power joke is just a take off of the old 404 gas V 8 with old 560 glow plug pre combustion tech. and the Cummins will still be running long after the V8's are wore out. and it was built from the ground up as a diesel and does not need any glow plugs till it get real cold out as mine has always started setting out with out being pluged in even down to -20 . When i was on the road driven large car the dodge would set down in the truck lot all week with out being run or pluged in and the boss had a new power joke and would call home to have someone put it inside so it would start as there were a couple late nites that we got in and the DORF was left out and would not start but the old Dodge started up just fine . Now yes there are some things that i do not like on the dodge but i do like the drive line .

Well as for mine i have had no problems with it in all the time i have had my truck , but then again mine is a 5 speed as a long time ago i had my round with the slush boxes and even thought i am vary well experanced with building a slush box as i have build many C6's and 727 's and ever since may 10 of 1975 when ford cheapened up the C6's and you can no longer get the 6 clutch drums for them i have no use for a sluch box and since i am also and old large car driver , it takes iron to haul iron and i am not a panzzy and don't mind a stick even in rush hour traffic . My only grip about the Dodges are that they do not have lock out hubs as here again i do not mind getting a littel mud or snow on my boots to get out and lock the hubs in when needed . Now believe me when i tell you that i have had more then my fair share of SUN KISSED LEMONS from Ford like my 78 F250 4X4 and also my 88 F350 4X4 with it's engine parts list of 666 that was knowen by all Ford dealers in this area as the truck from He(double) L that Frod spent over 12000 dollars in warranty repairs plus a new total paint job then the insurance co. spent almost 9000 on repairs for a wire fire then it would eat a computer once a week for what ever reason and the rear end that self distructed because of a cheap crush spacer and the list goes on , by the time we got the truck all fixed to where it was working good it was wore out. So i bought the dodge used and yes it was not take vary good care of but two new u/ joints in the ft. end and new total brake job with rotors and calipers and engine tune up on the Cummins and tow lift pumps and a fuel tank sending unit it is fine now. Lot less money spent on the dodge then on the Ford.

You can take the muffler off and run straight pipe, or knock the muffler out and put t back on.
No need as the VET said to spend all the money on the pipe, which is high, when you can do this for about 50 bucks and get darn near the same result. You may see a little increase in mileage but most in power letting it breath

Well , As far as pullen the muffler off and going to bigger pipes and spending money on all of the after market stuff just stop and think on how much fuel you can buy with that money ????? . and may be it might get ya a mile so to a gallon more but it take a long time to make it up . Now this is food for thought here , When was the last time that you had the valves adjusted ???? . You are driving a DIESEL POWERED TRUCK and it does not have hyd. lifters in it and they DO have to be adjusted every so often , will it help yes on my 95 when i got it that was the first thing i did was adjust the valves as it did less on fuel milage then the 460 ford that it replaced . It was a dog as it had never been in to be put in service and never had the valves set or the pump checked . Now i know that yours is all electronic but you still have to adjust the valves . I have worked on diesels since i was a pup so it was not that big of a deal for me and i even bought the tool kit to work on the 6 BT cummins . as i figured out that if i adjusted my valves like the book sayes over the life of the truck and along with the tractors that i work on that use the 4 BT or the 6 BT then it will pay for it's self . Now from what my dodge was getting at first to what it does now was a 5 mile to a gal differance . So i guess it was out of adjustment and since then i have done 12 other dodges for friends and they all have come up on milage from a couple miles to a gallon to like mine 5 miles to a gallon. Oh yea all i was out was 6 new valve cover gskt. that i bought from Case I H as they were less money from them then dodge or cummins along with the two fuel pumps that i have had to replace .

I got rid of my muffler, put in larger injectors, added edge chip and k&n filter and noticed no change in mileage ,better or worse, just more power.Mine is also 99 CTD.
