I have a Farmall H with no serial # on it. I was told they all have casting letters on all major part to tell what year they are. Well this one has the letter K on it which is a 1941 , but it also has a steel gear shift knob on it. That is supposed to mean it is a war time model, but the war did not start until after it was made, so what year is it really.

In addition to the serial number plate, which I guess is missing, H's had the serial number stamped on the block. On a smooth flat spot just above the distributor, maybe right below the #1 sparkplug. Eough coats of paint might cover it up, but it's a pretty deep cut stamp.
Good luck, Wm
PS
The Manchurians might have said '36.

Seems to me war started in "39, just some contries did not get involved until it was almost over.
