This morning as I just got out of the shower I heard this sound of a large truck running. Really didn’t pay much attention to it at first. Then I head the lid on the propane tank banging.
I thru a towel around me and I open the window which was closest to the tank and I hollered at the driver that had just put the hose on the tank.

I really startled him as he jump around to look to see who it was. I told him not to fill it.
And he wanted to know why, so I told him that I had another gas company lined up to supply me.
He wanted to know why I decided to switch, I told him this other company quoted me $1.499 caped. And Ferrellgas quoted $1.779. Then he says they can match that price. I said wait a minute what gives here. If it weren’t for me switching companies I would still be paying the price of $1.779 thru Ferrellgas.
I said why are you here to fill me up now normally it’s done at fall time. He didn’t have an answer for that question.

I asked him why couldn’t they quote me that price to begin with. He said he would have his boss call me. I said please do as I’d would like to talk with him also.
He also said this other company will raise the price next year on me. I said so did Ferrellgas and they didn’t seen to waste anytime to do it. Right now I’m getting.029 cent per gallon less than what Ferrell quoted me.

I did get a call from Ferrellgas this afternoon but it was a secretary just verifying what me and the driver was talking about. She said they’d get back with me. Maybe this driver wasn’t supposed to say anything? Never the less I have to see it in writing to believe it! Oh, plus he said Ferrellgas is one of the biggest suppliers in the country. Going to be interesting what the boss has to say if he calls?
Sorry for such a long subject. Mike

Here in south-central Kansas about ten years ago, I found a local independent supplier who was great to work with; always kept me supplied at competitive prices. Ferrellgas came in and bought him out, fired the employees, and proceeded to run a decent operation into the ground. I put up with it for one season and looked around and found another independent one person operation and have been very pleased. I will never have anything to do with Ferrell ever again, and I tell as many people as possible. Ben

I used Ferrellgas here in southeastern PA for quite a few years untill I learned they were ripping me off so bad. They were charging me a dollar and more a gallon then other local suppliers quoted me. I didn't realize this as my wife was just paying the bills. They also let me run out quite a few times and when I called them they would come out the next day when they could. Didn't matter if I had a cold shower that night. I wouldn't pay my last bill and had a new supplier bring me gas. I wrote them a nasty letter and said I wish i could inform other people to watch out for them. Will never use them again. Good luck, Steve

I remember somebody on here saying that Ferrell gas is losing lots of customers. I think that Ferrell gas has the most to lose, big overhead, lots of trucks, employee bennies, etc. So if ferrell gas can keep you at $1.499 then they at least break even with you. I agree that the sudden drop of the price from $1.79 to $1.49 is BS but, then I was quoted a price of $1.59 for the prebuy and if I can get them now at $1.49 for 200 gallons or so then I will do it without changing companies. I will be buying corn and pellets for next winter. I still need propane for the water heater.

That was me, and they are. I know this on more than just a regional level. A lot of very poor management at the upper levels.
