I rebuilt a carb today on a MH 30 MS carb. The tractor will wil just fine, if you remove the main jet, but if you even put your finger over the hole where to main jet goes in the engine will die. So what/where I'm I missing as far as cleaning it?? This is the first carb I have ever had do this to me and I have rebuilt a good number of them. Help please!
Thanks

Old,
Is that the one the venturi fell out of? If so did you get it installed tight. Just my $.02

Is your manifold gasket leaking?

When a venturi would come loose on the race car it made a huge difference. Can you peen the edges to tighten it up any?

Don't know if I could or not. But I do have other carbs I might be able to try one from one of the other carbs

Probably the one that you sent to Dawn to practice on is the one you need. LOL

Well I tried another one and it didn't help. But I think I may have found the problem. On this tractor the intake manifold has been welded right at the carb mount. I started it with the main jet in and sprayed carb cleaner in that area and as long as I sprayed it ran but if I stopped it would die in a short time. Guess my next try will be 2 gaskets and a little bit of silicone sealer and see what happens. At this point I don't think I have any thing to loose. LOL
