ok when i bought my to-20 the front tires were goners new tires and rims a little after one back tire left me so i bit the bullet and bought a new one, the other is fine so i didnt replace it. today i was working on the new cattle fence and had it parked off to the side of the acess road well out of the way for me to get the jd 500c back hoe through. when my step father decied to come down on the ford 5030 with the york rake on to see how i was doing and fix up the road a little as he was driving by my fergie the york rake catches my rear tire, yes the new one ripping a good hole in it now my step dad says its not his fault and he shouldnt have to pay for a new tire or even getting this one repaired what would yall do? oh yea and my bank account says i dont have enough for half a new tire right now

Forget the tire, but take the keys away from your cheap F-I-L before he does the same thing to a car full of people.

If someone hits something that belongs to someone else and busts it, he should have the decency to own up to it and fix it, especially when it was as blatantly his fault as that, hitting something in plain sight. Family or not, that still is basic common decency.

Well, I don't know what has been going on behind the scene in the past but my first thought is that stepdad is being very irresponsible and not wanting to admit he screwed up. My daughter used to work at the front desk at an insurance office, taking claims, and she said if you run into something whether it be going forward or backward, you are at fault! Good luck. Jim

Holy smokes!!! Is it an odd size? I got a pair of 18.4x34's mounted, fluid pumped out and in, and new tubes, plus a farm call last fall for just a tad more than that ($755).

If its a 28, I sold a pair of them, lightly used on ebay for $100 each on a rim.

If he says he doesnt owe for it, then you have 3 choices... park it until you do have the cash, scrape around and find the cash, or sue him for it. I cant see suing family over a $300 tire, not worth the hard feelings it will cause.

I agree with kyhayman. As an alternative, I'd look for a well used one to get by with until I could afford another new one.
