Need Diesel Kiki injection pump info

I'm trying to find some detailed service information on a Diesel Kiki injection pump. It's a rotary pump that was used on many Isuzu diesel engines in automotive applications. Most industrial Isuzus have in-line pumps, but for some reason they used rotaries in cars and small trucks - like diesel Chevettes, Chevy LUVs, Isuzu Imarks, PUPs and Troopers, Toyota trucks, etc. I'm trying to figure out what exactly these pumps use to suck fuel from the tank, i.e. the internal transfer pump. Roosamaster uses a vane-pump, and so does CAV - but I don't see anything like that in the parts picture I have - and that's the only info I have.

It's been a while since I looked at one. But I seem to recall the Diesel Kiki pumps on the early 80's Izusu PU/Trooper had an external lift pump to feed the injection pump. It was similar to the mechanical fuel pump found on carbureted car engines.

Obviously an in-tank electric pump would have worked too.

No fuel pump on this. None in the tank, and none anywhere else. I used to have a diesel Trooper - 1986 with the 2.2 turbo Isuzu engine - it didn't have an separate pump either. There is some sort of fuel-transfer mechanism built into the fuel-injection pump - but I have no idea what. The fuel filter assembly on the diesel Chevette has a hand-pump for filling the filter when changed. Most other rotary fuel-injection pumps also have built in transfer pumps. Roosmaster/Stanadyne and CAV use a dual-bladed paddle pump built into the rear. Many non-rotary in-line pumps often has a bolt-on fuel pump affixed to them - but the in-line pumps don't get used in the automotive applications. This injection pump, called a Diesel Kiki model VE is "licensed by Bosch", so I assume that means it was built on a Bosch design?
