Hi Guys, I have just recently purchased a 53 jubilee that starts, runs and operates very good. I decided to start doing some routine maintaince on it starting with an oil change. Being new to this tractor I decided to copy down the numbers on the existing filter and go to a local NH dealer. the existing filter was a New Holland filter E7NN-6714. At the NH dealer they said that number was no longer valid, it was replaced by a new number long ago . no big deal, untill I started thinking. Is that how long its been since the last oil change or did some guy just have a stock pile of these old filters??? I guess I will never know. but that leads me to these questions. no winter use. (1) What type of oil SAE30 or multi-vis 10W30 (2) my biggest concern is detergent or non-detergent. right now that engine runs like a top ,absolutely no smoke but what troubles can it get in if it's been years since last oil change with a detergent oil. (3) how many Qts with new filter thanks for your time and I would appreciate any knowledgeable input .. Thanks Gary

Hi Gary, I found your post because I am trying to cross reference a new E7NN-6714-AA oil filter I have among my automotive junk. Anyhow, mine is in a Ford-New Holland box. The way Ford part numbers work, the E7 indicates that this part was originally used in the 1987 model year, so that's the maximum age of your filter. It could be much newer too, as Ford parts, and hence their numbers are sometimes used for decades.

Depending on the age of the dealer, New Old Stock is still possible. Filters are available for the early Fords at your local Napa store. I use straight 30wt in MY Jube. 40wt in the warmer months in my older 'N's.

I agree with old.. use a detergent oil.

10w30 is too light in my opinion. Try 30w like the manual said if you are in warm climates.. or a medium weight multi-vis like old recomended... if you are in temperate climates with some cold weather..

Where is the oil cap or where do you add the oil. I just got a Jubilee and can"t figure this out.

My owners manual says 5 qts. with out filter so you add one more with the filter. Detergant only, I would never run one on non detergant oil. I would also go with say a 20w-40 type of oil.
