I know everybody has likes and dislikes, but I have narrowed my tractor search down to two. A 1958 MF 65 and a IH 300U. The MF is $3000 and the IH is $2000. If you were going to just judge them heads up which one would you choose and why?

I have two MF 65 diesels and both are great. One I've had for several years and most dependable tractor I've had. I have had several IH tractors (but not a 300) and liked them but the 65 gets everything done. If money is not a factor, go with the MF 65. However if money is not a factor, buy both tractors. My 2 cents.

It comes down to a few things- Dealer support, tires, and which do you like better. If both were in equal condition and had similar dealer support I'd lean towards the Massey. You also might want to check fuel economy vs. HP ratings.

Well the 300U is a 41 HP tractor with live PTO and maybe a 3 point. The massey is a 46 HP and maybe a live pto and should have 3 point. It may depend on which tractor dealer you have close and if they are any good

Is the MF 3 point and live PTO? If so go with it. If not go with the 300. Both are fine tractors. Also is the MF diesel? That would kill it right there if it were me (don't like diesel!)! I would probably lean to the IH..... if it were me.
