I have two SO's. If You have any specific questions, I would be glad to try and help. I think Case made around 1800 of them, but not all of them had orchard metal.

FWIW (1): looked thru Case section in 50 Motor Trk & Tractor manual...S and SO same engine, nothing for SO in spec pgs (just S), and saw nothing separate for SO in repair section, just S for all except SC on "power lift, mechanical type"section.
FWIW(2): just happened to have Wendels book out of the library, and recall several entries that orchard models same except for bodywork, but, (naturally!) not mentioned in yours. Closest is Model R "essentially the std tread version of the Model RC row crop...also built this model in RO Orchard and RI Industrial models...", implying, at least,no substantial differences in any. Good luck.

Back in the 1940s my family doctor had one. I still have my father's 1942 Case S which we had then, so I paid some attention to the SO. I think it was the same as the S except for the orchard fenders. I was small then and never got too close to it.
