You would be looking at a casting number, that would not be a serial number and Ford had one serial number for both engine and tractor

Without knowing model hard to say as they were in different places. Flat head engine, overhead valve engine, 3 speed, 4 speed, 5 speed, 6 speed, 8 speed, wheel size, lug spacing, spin out wheels?

Where did you look for the serail number at?? On that tractor if it is a 601 series the number will be on a flat spot behind the starter and it will also have the model number there. The number is on the bell houseing area. Under the air cleaner
