I never anyone mention getting help from your wives as far as tractor restoration or farm work. My wife is my biggest asset on my farm and works hand on hand with me. Anymore hard working women out there?

I met my wife in Northern Vermont, and after 5 years of letter writing she came west (Washington State)to see where I live. She saw my MF-135, 8N, and TO-20 - I'm not sure if she married me or my tractors. She changes her own oil, plows, mows, rakes (wants to bale) cooks, sews, gardens, and teaches classical piano. She keeps up with the news, knits in front of the fire at night, raises and butchers chickens, and supports my harebrained schemes. She is with me 100% as we build a 40X70 shop, and is encouraging me to build an airplane (a life-long dream of mine.) She takes care of herself, and keeps house and home together when I'm gone for months at a time. She is the best wife I've ever had, and loves my daughter like her own. She can wire a house, lay blocks, build a chicken house, and install roofing. And, when she puts on her good clothes, can attend a society dinner and know which fork to use. We share a love of classical music, machinery, and each other. A zero-maintenance wife is indeed a gift from heaven.

i have read all the reply an i agree with everone else also. my wife is my best friend wouldnt know what to do without her, she not only helps me on my tractors when i need it, sometimes even when i dont need it. anything i am doin outside she is there to help, but i have one that most of you might not be able to top is that my wife also not only helps load my tractors, but helps chain them down, an then will gladdly drive my outfit also, (crewcab pickup with 32ft tandem trailer) an do legally, she has got a CDL also.
i couldnt ever repay her for all she does for me, an never would want to ever try it without her. she also does so much for so many others also. she works for hospice, takin care of the ones in need. i couldnt do it.

My wife helps alot, not much with tractor stuff. She does all the milking now, takes care of the baby calves, some of the AI work. And of course does that Mom/housewife thing as well. This is all so I have more time to drive round in circles with tractors and implements and/or fix broken tractors and implements. Did I mention she brings picnic lunches right to the field(Awesome).

Had to put my 2cents in on this one... We have only been married for 4 years but together for 7 total and she helps me all the time.. does most all the raking and the tedding... cant get her to run the discbine or the balers yet... but were working on that... shes very good with the cattle and loves to be on the farm... she grew up on a farm and did alot of the work with the cattle herself and most of the time we clash and have the damndest knock down drag out fights over the way things should be run.... but she is now pregnant with our first child... WOW doing everything myself has really opened my eyes to how much she did before... and were not even in hay season.... hope to lean on a few friends.. will take atleast two to fill her shoes...

Anytime I need to change an implement,
I get her to drive the tractor.
She can back up to the implements better than I can.

She helps me all the time. Couldn"t make it without her.

If I asked my wife to do landscape work, or haul firewood or cut the grass she would tell me to go screw myself. (she does most of the housework, I do some it too.) Some broads have it super easy, sit on their *sses, eat, watch TV. Most have never had a long hard day like being on their feet for 10 hours straight running a milling machine, logging up trees for hours on end or just general manual labor. And we wonder why our wives are overweight.

I used to have a wife that no other could beat . She used to help me around the yard work , in the garage & out on jobs . I was self employed for 25 yrs . The last 10+ yrs of our marriage she fought me in everything I did . Wouldn't support our business at all during that time . She went to work & was making a steady chk. that usually was more than mine . So the sh** started . Well a month after our 33 yr anniversary she left me saying I was the best husband a woman could ever have . Go figure that one out . Then all He** broke loose . My health went sour , had to close down my business due to my health issues . Now I'm disabled . Income stinks . Word of advice , take care of the wife & always be a yes dear type of guy . God Bless , Ken

I am not married up yet but my girlfriend will help me work on the tractor(s) if needed. She doesn't know what the parts are called yet but she is getting pretty good with the tools tightenting and loosening bolts for me.

I hope I'm wrong, but this could be "politics". Ready to help with anything- until she's "elected" and your're hitched.

Yeah, mine helps with farm work and grease-monkey work. She's also a great cook and mother. And, she's also smarter than me that sometimes helps - and sometimes p*sses me off. Only thing she is NOT good at is digging holes with a shovel - for some reason she can't get along with a shovel. Me? I've got some Irish blood so perhaps it comes more natural. I wouldn't trade her in on anything.

My wife is my best friend. She generally rakes all the hay during hay season. This year due to having no use of my right shoulder, she has planted the majority of our garden and works it. Cuts all of our grass, cooking, cleaning and raises the kids. When we worm the cows, she does all of the castrating. I appreciate everything she does for me and just thank the lord that he blessed me with her.

Mine is my bestest friend too. Just don't put her on equipment or anything with a trailer. I HAVE SEEN HER GO THROUGH A 16 FT GATE WITH AN 8 FT VEHICLE AND GET BOTH CORNER POSTS.Now that will play havoc with yer old blood pressure. However, like stated above, she is smarter than I am, course so is a brick, she helps doctor the cows and calves, even though she names all of them and wants to bring all the calves into the basement, she takes care of the house, and me, and I ain't missed a meal yet, have I Sloroll? Wives are just like shoes though, you don't buy the first pair you try on, so a guy ought to wear a couple pair for awhile and see how they are going to break in. Either that or "The third times the charm" or something. Harley

Usually when nothing would go right I would ask her to bring an ice tea or coffee and to help me for a few mints. Sure made a difference. I had the farmwork and was a self employed electrician. She took care of the cooking and cleaning and we looked after her Mom for a few years. And after 34 years she still calls me Honey.
