Hi Guys,

The darned wind died down to about 20 knots, so a guy can at least stand up out there today. Still kinda cold at 43 degrees, but livable.

Buildin' a seedbed today and thought some of you might like to see the pictures.

Allan

Allan, I sure enjoy the pictures. Nice straight looking job. I see what looks like a tree at the other end of the field, do you line up on that tree to start? Stan

Hi Stan,

No, not really. I just take out across the field at an angle opposing the way I'm gonna run the drill. Don't even think about driving straight. :>)

Sorry about that wind Allen, read Coloken's post so went out last night and checked, sure enough someone had left that barb wire gate open so I closed it and look no wind today. LOL.
Hey that sure is looking great behind you, even a tree to eat lunch under this summer, or don't those rattler's share?
Thanks for all the pic's on here enjoy them all.

Nice pictures.

Been hot and dry around here lately. Average rain for April is 5.5" but we have had 0 so far this month. Got to 91° this past Monday.

Guys are cutting hay around here already but we sure need some rain.

Hi JD,

Well, actually to my eye it is pretty darned hilly.

Here's a picture of the home place. 200 acres and that sow is flat! :>)

Allan: Great pics of what that machine will do. I bought a new one three years ago. Never had one before. Couldn't be happier with it.

Things are looking really good Allan. I wondered how you'd been doing since the tree fell...

Allan, it seems as though you have sent all that on over here to Iowa. We'll put up with for a couple of days, but then we're gonna send it right back. You might wanna hurry just a little with you field work.LOL.

Boy that was nasty wasn't it. I guess that's just NE weather for ya! Hope you didn't have too much damage. Sounds like you guys farther west had higher winds.

It was nasty, but I think it was worse up in the Black Hills.

They had the wind plus 2 feet of snow and 10,000 homes without power. Governor set up a "disaster control center".

Hi Bob,

Should be around 40 acres, if I'm lookin' at it right.

No, no rocks, but sure has some clay in spots. Darned stuff is really hard to work down. Gonna have to hit some of it twice before I plant.
