Found a Case 1070. 3500 hrs, newer tires, 2 remotes, good condition. 6,500 dollars.
Anything specific I should look for on this tractor that are problem spots for this make and model. Price sound fair? The guy offered to let me watch it work this week in the field. gonna take a look.

The Case 1070 Agri-King is a great tractor and that is not a bad price. The standard shift is better than the powershift, tho.

If its 8 speed I'd bring it home, if its powershift thats about $2000 too much in this market.

There is an issue with 70 series tractors- that their pto starts up by itself. Not good when cleaning out a field chopper, etc.

About the only issue I came across was the PTO. See if it will stop without a load on it. They use a brake and they wouldn't always disengage properly or were flat not working (PTO spins all the time). Other than that the rest is personal preferance. I don't care for where the batteries are. Kinda of a PITA if you have to get to them. I have developed a minor issue with sucking air and think an electric fuel pump at the tank would be nice. Great tractor though. I use the crap outta my 970 (same tractor minus a few cubes). I would recomend that you have it serviced regularly. All those wet clutches depend on good clean oil.

Plus if your going to do any dirt work load the tires. I always run out of traction, long before power.

Remove fuel line at pump an see if you are getting a full flow of fuel . If not pencil filter is plugged in tank . You can read about it on page 93 of instruction manual.Filter is inside tank.

We had a 970 which was a very good , dependable tractor. I like the Case slow running, economical engines, they are well built and have what a JD doesn't have LOW END TORQUE!! Case never really made a bad engine. If it's a power shift make sure it shifts firmly, they shift aggressively. Price sounds reasonable, Good Luck.

Price sounds about right... We"ve got a 1270 with duals that will pull - and pull some more...
One word of caution - don"t drive it or you won"t be able to sleep at night unless it"s parked at your place!!
