Hi All,

Weather man says a hi of only 43 today with 35 mph winds. Chance of precipatation at 40%.

Gotta seal up 40 acres of plowed ground, so it seems I will be conducting an open-station tractor study to see if it really is as "miserable" as I remember from my younger days. Hardest part is gonna be gettin' that contrary German diesel started this morning. :>(

Sometimes, I think my little hobby is kinda gettin' out of hand. :>)

Well Phooey!

Hauled clear the heck and gone out there, plugged in the old tractor, put on about 3 layers of clothes and did the chores.

Did a little fixin' while the tractor was warmin' up and darned if it didn't start snowin' and hasn't stopped!

So, back in here to the hills and guess I'll clean out that dirty pickup and service it up today, 'cause wife wants to haul up to South Dakota this weekend to get her aluminum stock trailer.

Guess the oats will just have to wait 'til spring gets here. :>(

Hey Buddy,
I feel your pain. I got a 1/2 mile driveway that I use my JD 730 gas and a three point snow blower on. Every year as I freeze my butt off I swear that next fall I`m gettin a heat houser. Then when fall comes I don`t get around to it and the whole process starts over again. I`m with you though, when the weathers nice, I wanna be out in the open air. Maybe you could have the missus bake a pie and take over to the neighbor with the big green machine. He might get the hint and let you finish up in heated comfort. Good luck Brokenwrench

Got a 1086 with cab setin still today if you want to come get it.
You may need to get one of those heathouser thingys if you want be able to get your fingers unwrapped from the steering wheel when you get done today.
I remember as a kid farmers wrapping up in blankets when using tractors on cold days.

Don't freeze. Gary

All this reminds me of when I worked for PCA in the 70's, and a very conservative old dairyman was getting a new IH- He didn't want to pay the extra for a cab, but his wife wanted him to- tractor was for spreading manure, all winter long, come rain, sleet or snow- he finally caved, and he always expressed his appreciation that the Mrs. could be so bullheaded when she needed to be. With a smile on his face, of course.

Before we got a cab I remeber being in high school and way to tough to bundle up really good. I drove as hard as I could to one end of the feild just to enjoy the warmth of the exhaust (although burning my eyes) on the slower return trip. Eat a good breakfast and wrap up good Allan.
