Howdy all,

A very good friend of mine is looking for an all purpose tractor for his 15 acre farm in Kansas. I have offered him one of my Allis Chalmers WD's which is in fine working order. I have two great WD's that do most of my work along with a 1955 Farmall Cub.

He's also found a Case SC (I believe he said model 320) in very similar condition to my WD and is also considering this tractor. Both tractors are also priced very evenly.

Has anobody had a chance to work both tractors? Would you be willing to list some of the pluses and minuses of each tractor and your preferences, etc.

I'll pass this thread on to him for his own research. There's nothing like experience behind the wheel. I can only vouch for my WD's which I love, but want him to come to his own conclusions.

Thanks,

T

I believe it was an SC that our neighbor bought when Dad bought the WD45 in '56. Case had an 'eagle' three point..... ....and only a hand clutch. I think a foot clutch was an option but the hand was cheaper. Clumsy looking tractor but got the neighbor's work done. I wouldn't take it over a WD.

That Case SC is probably one of the best tractors ever made...however. No 3 point..some might have No live or indepentant PTO

Don`t know a thing about the Case, but the WD is a pretty good old tractor and can usually be found for $800 to $1200 in working condition.
