Glad that tough stuff is out of the way. I'll finsh workin' 'er down this afternoon and then forget it until and "if" it rains and needs summer fallowed.

I made one more round there and took it right up to the fence; must be the irrigator in me. Always gotta make 'er neat.

This afternoon, I got all but about 10 acres of it disced once. Think I'm gonna hit it at one more angle in the morning, maybe at a higher gear so it will shatter, before I put it to rest fer the summer.

Busy, busy; but that's exactly what I was a needin'. :>)

Allan,if you are going to let fallow till Fall, why would want to harrow now? Looks to me as clods would mean less wind erosion. I'm just curious and you know what that did to the CAT. Tx Jim

Hi Jim,

Between the "slabby" sod and the disc, I'm ending up with quite a little "grass clumps".

I tried it in a couple of places and the second discing "shatters" these clumps down so it saves the moisture.

If it starts to blowin', I'll have to be out there with a springtooth anyway. :>)

That brings back some pleasant memories from almost 50 years ago. Plowin' was one of my favorite chores - except the time the cornstalks went to plugging up the plow...
You have good straight rows there in the mittle too. I've seen a bunch with a big S.

By golly Allan, if you'd started at that clean up round, you'd have been finished the first day !!! BTW, I see you use a spinner on your steering wheel also ----- great little gadget, used to be handy in a car back in my courtin' days as well :)

Did you know "spinners" are illegal on cars in most states now? I don't know how we all survived back in the days when the guvment wasn't continually covering our backsides.
