Not tractor related to say, but the truck pulling it would out pull a lot of tractors.
A refinery vessel was built in Casper, Wyo and transported to the Cheyenne refinery last week. It's weight was 372 TON, 20 feet wide and 205 feet long. Traveled on all 2 lane highways only when school bus's were not running.
What a running gear it had, over 100 wheels, and to make a corner each set of dollies had to be turned by hydraulic's as they worked it around the corner and then get it running straigh again, quite a operation for sure.
Came right by our house so got a first hand look and of course couldn't find the ---- camera in time.
They trucked in a crane that is supposed to be the largest crane in the US just to unload and set the vessel, had to have another crane just to pick up the 3 inch chokers to put them on the big guys hook.
Thought it might be interesting to some, just sorry I can't post a pic.

Wow! That is pretty amazing. Why do you reckon they didn't truck in the materials and fabricate it on site?

Bob, they brought that rig through downtown Torrington because that is where the intersection of 26 and 85 is. They had a picture in the paper. They closed that main intersection for all 4 directions while trying to negotiate the turn. Said it was the heaviest load ever hauled on a Wyoming highway.

Dave I thought you may have seen it up there, did you ever see so many wheels to get turned? I bet that pusher got a work out on that Albin hill, man that hill works any truck pretty good.
I asked the same question, but got no answer except they are more equiped to build it in Casper, it will hold chemical catalysts to make cleaner diesel fuel. Was told the walls are 3" thick.
