I found a tractor on a car lot and nobody knows what kind it is .I can get it cheap
The # on engine plate is 1 or IXB35L,Bore 4X4 1/4
Serial #? 2459149 ?
Can anybody help me determine make and year and aprox buying price? SAWMAN

BF Avery/Moline have the serial numbers stamped into the right frame rail by the brakes. I believe Averys did also. BG Avery /Molines had a tag rivited to the frame rail about even with the back of the engine. With BFs the stearing is down the left side of the engine and on BGs on the right. Also BGs have a shortened axel on the left and smaller rear wheels.

Thats a hercules ixb3 sl engine.The sl means it has shell insert bearings.The casting date will be on the right side just above the oil pan.The serial number is ?,i guess from the engine tag so it does not help alot on the tractor.It could be a silverking,avery,moline bg,cletrac etc.you can look in the photo section on the left of this page.

Larry I just bought this old tractor for 1500 today.I hope I did'nt go wrong,but it does run and I take it to a freind mon.Maybe he will know.
I want to make a antique pulling tractor out of it.Sombody to me it might a b c avery bought by min moline in the 50's.Have you ever heard of them?WhrnI get it home I will send a pic.WOnder where I would find to model # on it? SAWMAN
